I hope this message finds you well in the midst of some very troubling and urgent times for the world. If you or your loved ones are in any of the many places experiencing crisis, I wish for your safety and wellbeing.
And I look forward to continuing to work with you to realize a more beautiful vision for how we live on this planet.
One way that we invite you to help do that is by joining the HUMANs global cooperative network, and help shape a new economy built on supporting each other to live the best lives we can imagine for ourselves.
Stay tuned for a membership and fundraising invitation coming soon…
Meanwhile, we want to be sure you know about our Annual General Membership Meeting and Board Election, coming up Saturday September 30, 2-4pm CDT. We will host in person in Madison Wisconsin and online via our usual gotomeeting setup.
Some important things to know leading up to it:
- We aim to hear and approve new pilot site applications at the meeting. If you want to be working on pilot site development, please attend our weekly web meetings every Friday in September from 2-4pm CDT on gotomeeting, where we will hold skillshares and detailed discussions to help you get your pilot project ready. Starts this week!
- Board members wanted! We aim to expand and diversify our Board leadership. We aim to include a representative from each pilot site (including new and in-progress ones), each region of the world where people are looking to create cooperative economies (everywhere, but starting where we have relationships which is already several continents), people from all walks of life, especially communities commonly exploited by the dominant economy, and people with a variety of skillsets. Interested? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
That’s all for now, watch for our membership invitation. You’ll want to be a member in good standing for our Annual meeting, and we’re working hard to make membership valuable for you. Coming soon – Project videos, how-tos, more skillshares. Already here – Project management tools, lots of good information and support from other project stewards and supporters, mutual credit and time exchange tools, a marketplace for all kinds of resources. All in rough draft form that you can help shape!
Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer,
